  1. The Art of Drew Struzan Star Wars (TM) Portfolio
  2.  
  3. This read me file contains information on:
  4. Minimum system configuration.
  5. Viewing the portfolio.
  6. How to navigate this CD-ROM.
  7. Printing information.
  8. Screen Saver installation instructions.
  9. How to receive technical support.
  10.  
  11. MINIMUM SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
  12. Windows 95 or Windows 98 operating system.  133 MHz or higher 
  13. processor.  At least 32 Mb RAM.  8x (or better) CD-ROM.  800 x 600
  14. display capable of displaying High Color, 16 bit color.  16-bit 
  15. sound card.

  17. TO VIEW THE PORTFOLIO
  18. 1) Put the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.  
  19. 2) For best performance, quit all other applications prior to 
  20. running this program, and set your monitor to 800 x 600 resolution
  21. with Thousands of Colors.
  22. 3) Double click on the Start.exe icon within the Drew Struzans 
  23. Star Wars CD-ROM.

  25. HOW TO NAVIGATE THIS CD-ROM
  26. After launching the Start.exe icon, the portfolio will take a few
  27. seconds to load.  You will then see an animated open leading up 
  28. to the main menu.  To skip the animated open, click anywhere on 
  29. the screen once the animation has started.  The main menu has 
  30. seven animated buttons on the right side of the screen.  As you 
  31. roll your cursor to the buttons, the animation will stop, and when
  32. you position your cursor over a button, a highlight will appear 
  33. around it.  Click on the button to enter that section.
  34.  
  35. The Drew's World section of the portfolio, has another menu which
  36. also has buttons on the right side, which when clicked, will take
  37. you into that section of the portfolio.
  38.  
  39. Whenever you roll your mouse over an object, and it shows a 
  40. highlight around it, the item can be clicked.  For example, in the
  41. scrolling menus of art, when you roll your mouse over an item, and
  42. click it, it will bring up a larger image of the art, along with 
  43. additional information pertaining to it.
  44.  
  45. Other buttons used in the portfolio include:
  46. BACK - When used on a scrolling menu (such as in the Movie 
  47. Posters, Book Covers, Sketches, and Special Projects areas), this 
  48. will advance you backward on the menu.  If you hold down your 
  49. mouse button, you will continually advance on the menu until you 
  50. release the mouse button, or reach the start of the menu.  On 
  51. non-scrolling screens, the Back button will bring you to the 
  52. previous screen.

  54. CREDITS - This button will present you with a list of the people 
  55. who created this CD-ROM.
  56.  
  57. FORWARD - When used on a scrolling menu (such as in the Movie 
  58. Posters, Book Covers, Sketches, and Special Projects areas), this
  59. will advance you forward on the menu.  If you hold down your mouse
  60. button, you will continually advance on the menu until you release
  61. the mouse button, or reach the end of the menu.  On non-scrolling 
  62. screens, the Forward button will advance you to the next screen in
  63. that section.

  65. EXIT - This button will allow you to exit the program.
  66.  
  67. MENU - Will bring you back to the previous menu.
  68.  
  69. PREVIOUS MENU - This will bring you back to the previous menu.
  70.  
  71. PRINT - This button will allow you to print text interviews, and 
  72. the black and white artwork shown in the Coloring Book section.  
  73. When printing interviews, the entire text of the interview will be
  74. printed.
  75.  
  76. SCREEN SHOW - This will bring you to a screen show of all artwork
  77. in that section, with narration by Drew Struzan.  Screen shows 
  78. appear throughout many sections of this portfolio.
  79.  
  80. WITH MUSIC - This button, in the Step-by-Step section, will allow 
  81. you to view the steps in creating an artwork, at your leisure, 
  82. with music.  The back and forward arrow buttons will allow you to 
  83. advance to the next step, or repeat the previous one.
  84.  
  85. WITH NARRATION - This button, in the Step-by-Step section, will 
  86. allow you to hear Drew narrate how he created an artwork.  The 
  87. back and forward arrow buttons allow you to skip ahead, or repeat
  88. a step in creating the artwork.  When the arrows are clicked, the 
  89. audio may sound clipped as you are jumping to the section of the
  90. soundtrack, which matches that visual.
  91.  
  92. ZOOM - This button will allow you to view an enlarged version of 
  93. the artwork.
  94.  
  95. PRINTING
  96. Two interviews have a print button, which will print the entire 
  97. interview.  Clicking on this print button will bring up the 
  98. standard Windows print dialogue boxes.  In the Coloring Book 
  99. section, each artwork has a print button.  Clicking on any of 
  100. these will bring up the standard Windows print dialogue boxes.  
  101. If you experience printing difficulties, before contacting 
  102. technical support, attempt to print out this read me.  If you are 
  103. unable to print out this document, your system is not functioning 
  104. correctly and our technical support will not be able to assist 
  105. you.

  107. SCREEN SAVER
  108. To install the screen saver, run the installation program located 
  109. inside the Screen Saver folder.  Once installed, open the Display 
  110. Control Panel and click on the Screen Saver tab.  This will allow 
  111. you to select the Drew's Star Wars screen saver, and set options.
  112. The artwork in the program is for screen saver use only.  Any
  113. other use is prohibited.  This screen saver is only licensed for
  114. use by the purchaser of the protfolio CD-ROM.
